Surgery puts Goodes out for six weeks

SYDNEY'S dual Brownlow Medallist Adam Goodes will have surgery on his injured right knee today to repair cartilage damage.

He is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Goodes had been expected to miss just one week after injuring the knee against Port Adelaide 10 days ago.

In better news for the Swans, forward Sam Reid (quad) and ruckman Shane Mumford (jaw) could be available for Sunday's game against Melbourne.
