MPs cheer McArdle's return to parliament after surgery

QUEENSLAND parliament members commented on how young and healthy the state's Energy and Water Supply Minister looked on his return to the chamber after illness.

Caloundra MP Mark McArdle stepped aside from his role in late June after being diagnosed with prostate cancer but returned to work this week after recovering from surgery.

"I welcome Minister McArdle back to the house today after his treatment for cancer," Premier Campbell Newman said.

"We wish him the very best in his recovery.

"It is great to see him looking so bright and healthy."
