Man walks free despite being caught naked in bed with boy

A CABOOLTURE man has walked free from court despite pleading guilty to a host of child sex offences which included filming himself on four occasions sexually abusing one young boy.

Corey David Jamieson, 21, pleaded guilty on Monday in the Brisbane District Court to child sex offences including the indecent treatment of a boy under 16, a boy under 12, producing and possessing child exploitation material and possessing a dangerous drug.

Crown Prosecutor Ron Swanwick told the court when police raided his Caboolture unit last year they found him naked in bed with one of the boys.

"Police located 163 highly graphic images which Jamieson took on his smartphone in relation to one of the boys," he said.

"They also located a further 51 images and four videos on his phone and computer in relation to another boy.

"They showed Jamieson committing sex acts against the boys and the boys being made to commit sex acts against Jamieson."

Mr Swanwick said it was yet to be determined what affect Jamieson's offending had on the two boys.

"The offences occurred over a two-year period and were persistent and systemic," he said.

"He knew the two children and it was a severe breach of trust.

"The offending was certainly at the higher end of the spectrum."

Defence barrister Gregory McGuire submitted a detailed psychiatric report into Jamieson's mental capacity and state of mind for the courts consideration.

He said it was obvious his client needed help to address his offending.

Judge Kerry O'Brien sentenced Jamieson to two years and three months behind bars but ordered it be suspended after serving 271 days in prison which was the time he had already served since his arrest on November 6 last year.

He placed Jamieson on two years probation and ordered that he undergo specialised treatment programs and psychiatric counselling.

Convictions in relation to all charges were recorded.
