85-year-old woman threatened and robbed in home invasion

POLICE are investigating after a woman was robbed and threatened in her home in North Ipswich this morning.

At around 7.15am, a man has climbed through a window at a Holdsworth Road address and started going through cupboards in the house.

The man entered a bedroom where an 85-year-old woman was asleep. He woke her, and demanded cash, while holding a knife in his hand.

The man fled after the woman gave him cash.

The woman wasn't physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island appearance, aged around 20 years and clean shaven, and tall.

Anyone who may have information which could assist police with their investigations is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
