A WHOPPING 700 jobs all based on the Sunshine Coast will be up for grabs in the one day only event titled The JobShow.

And the thousands of people expected to flock through the doors of TAFE Queensland East Coast's Mooloolaba Campus on Wednesday, October 19, will have a variety of industries to pick from.

The JobShow director Kris McCue said there were jobs in a call centre, health, construction, hospitality, IT, defence and even positions for lawyers and apprenticeships up for grabs.

"We will be exhibiting over 30 major employers and we will also be listing jobs for about another 30 odd employers across the Coast," he said.

"Those employers who are not quite big enough to exhibit will also have their jobs showcased."

The JobShow has grown from strength to strength in its third event, increasing from 500 to 700 jobs on offer since last year.

Will you be looking for work at the JobShow?

This poll ended on 25 October 2016.

Yes. - 54%

No. - 15%

I'll go along and see what's out there. - 30%

This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.

There was one question that kept arising that Mr McCue needed to answer.

"I really need to reiterate this is free, you don't need to pay to come along," he said.

"We have people contacting us asking how much it costs, but it doesn't cost anything."

While Sunshine Coast employment was in a far healthier state than three years ago, there were still many people looking for work.

"In 2013, things were pretty dire, but now we are performing as one of the top regions in terms of unemployment rates," Mr McCue said.

"We are at about 4.8% which is under the national and Queensland (6%) average and Youth Unemployment is around 9%."

The concern was many people were still "under-employed" and looking for extra hours to help fill the pay package.

The JobShow will offer more than an opportunity for jobseekers to meet face-to-face with prospective employers.

There will also be the chance to learn how to polish a resume with My Career Ninja offering free workshops.

Another team from Workplace Central will teach interview skills and social media workshops on the day.

"We will have three workshops running on the day," Mr McCue said.

While it advisable to book for these on The JobShow website, it is also possible to turn up on the day.

The JobShow runs from 10am to 4pm.
