4WD overturned in two-vehicle crash at Andergrove

A FOUR-wheel-drive was overturned in a two-vehicle-crash at Andergrove.

The 32-year-old driver of the Nissan Patrol was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Mackay Police District Duty Officer Acting Senior Sergeant Darren Nolan said the collision occurred about 6pm on Oak St, near the intersection with Ivy Dr.

The Nissan, which had been travelling east, and a park vehicle collided, which resulted in the four-wheel-drive being overturned on its front passenger side blocking both traffic lanes, Snr Sgt Nolan said.

The 32-year-old woman was entrapped and released from the vehicle by Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews, he said.

She was transported to hospital by Queensland Ambulance Service.

Both lanes of traffic were open again by about 6.30pm.

Snr Sgt Nolan reminded motorists to remember road safety leading into Australia Day.

"It's like any day of the year. Always drive to the road conditions, and if you are drinking, don't drive. Take a cab or get a designated driver," he said.
