31 dresses to fight ovarian cancer

THIS Frocktober, a group of creative women have pushed the boundaries of fashion to raise awareness for ovarian cancer during the 31 Dresses project.

Frocktober, an Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) fundraising initiative, has been adapted by Ipswich local Rebecca Lewis.

Originally, participants would wear a dress each day of October and post photos of themselves online to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.

"We have expanded on this idea and invited 31 ladies to sew a dress each and be photographed wearing their creation," Ms Lewis said.

"Each photo will represent one day in October, hence 31 dresses."

View photos of all of the dresses at the Cactus Cafe exhibition, which will be on display until October 28.

Donations to the fundraising project can be made through the "31 Dresses Ipswich" Facebook page with all funds going to the Ovarian Cancer Research foundation.
