22yo disability advocate set to join Senate

A 22-YEAR-old disability advocate with cerebral palsy is set to join the Senate, following WA senator Scott Ludlam's resignation last week over his dual citizenship.

Jordon Steele-John (pictured) will get the job if the Court of Disputed Returns orders a recount awarding it to the next candidate on the Greens' ticket.

He told ABC radio: "I've spent ... the last six years talking about disability advocacy issues extensively, and I'm incredibly excited to be able to take that voice and lived experience into the parliament, to hit the ground, if not running, then moving in a rapid direction.”
