2 Rural Fire Service fun day

  • Flinders Dolomite Rd, Peak Crossing
  • Tomorrow 10am - 3pm

FLINDERS Peak Rural Fire Service is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an open day set to entertain the whole family tomorrow. There will be a jumping castle, water slide, face painting, arts and crafts, as well as junior firefighter activities and simulations. Blazer Bear and Squirt the Little Car will also be there to meet their fans. Hamburgers and drinks will be on sale and all other activities are offered free of charge.

3 Black Snake Creek Festival

THIS two-day festival is a highlight for Marburg residents and visitors. Today there will be a street parade, a quilt and fibre show, markets, craft stalls, comedy acts, as well as live music and entertainment throughout the day. The event will also host a baby animal farm, classic cars and memorabilia from the Rosewood Scrub Historic Society.

4 Pig races and music muster

THE Peak Crossing pig races are currently in its seventh year of operation and have moved to the new venue of Peak Crossing State School. The day will include market stalls, a mechanical bull, food, drinks and plenty of attractions for the kids. Live music will be performed by Neil Duddy, Matti Biskit and The Noisy Minors. Entry $10 per person.

Children under 13 years get in for free.

5 Miss Diamond Pin Up Pageant

ACCOMPANIED by twilight markets and a car show from 3-6pm, the Miss Diamond Pin Up Pageant will have something for everyone.

6 Fassifern Fifties Festival

7 Children's Festival

TO CELEBRATE Children's Week, a festival will be held on Saturday. Free face painting, Lightning Dragon Dance, stalls, a magic show, martial arts performances with fireworks at 8pm. Tickets for five rides cost $10 and can be uses on the giant slide, the King Kong adventure, obstacle course challenge and the gladiator arena. Free entry.

8 Day for koala 'konnections'

9 Parklands opening

THE community is invited to celebrate the opening of Ecco Ripley's Brooking Parkland today. Visitors are invited to walk through the parklands, and there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a twist. Children can participate in a running race with the breaking of the ribbon signalling the official opening of Brooking Parklands. Green Thumbs gardening, tree planting, wildlife presentations, an inflatable soccer field, a sausage sizzle and more will be on offer.
