Water Park Family Fun Day

  • Providence, South Ripley
  • Sunday, 10am-2pm

THE growing Ripley community welcomes its biggest recreational attraction, Providence's new Splash 'n' Play Water Park and Adventure Playground.

The free family fun day will include a free sausage sizzle, free gift for every child, DJ and balloons.

The attraction is the only combined Water Park and Adventure Playground in the south-west and features an amphitheatre, skywalk and rope bridge, flying fox, 4m high water features and a toddler water play area with Wiggly Sprayers.

Wedding Expo

  • Ipswich Country Motel (formerly Country Comfort)

Brides and grooms to be are invited to see what's on offer from local suppliers in an annual wedding expo hosted by Country Comfort.

Donations will be collected at the door to help fund therapy for local children with cerebral palsy

St David's Day Celebration

  • United Welsh Church, Blackstone

CELEBRATE the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, with a special service at the last remaining Welsh Church in Queensland.

Located at 6 Thomas St, Blackstone, the church is one of three Welsh Churches throughout the country.

FOILS Book sale

PICK up a bargain at the first library book sale of the year. Co-ordinated by the Friends of Ipswich Library Service (FOILS), proceeds support future library events and projects.

Surplus library books will be available with prices starting at 20c.

Magazines, CDs and DVDs will also be on offer.

Ipswich Trail Run

ROUND two of the inaugural Ipswich Trail Run series takes off from White Rock Conservation Park.

This is the second in a series of three family friendly, local events and is the perfect opportunity to enjoy native surrounds, challenge your fitness, and embrace a healthy, active lifestyle.

Drive-In Movies and Markets

  • Saturday, 4pm-8pm

VISIT Tivoli Drive-In for a movie double featuring The Peanuts Movie at 7pm followed by Joy at 8.45pm.

Admission is $10 per car. Gates open at 4pm with market stalls and the cafe open plus a free jumping castle.

Behind the Lines

  • Ipswich Art Gallery
  • Daily, 10am-5pm

A selection of 80 of the best cartoons from 39 cartoonists.

This exhibition displays some of Australia's most controversial cartoons that test the boundaries of free speech and the freedom of the press.

Ipswich Nature Centre

  • Queens Park, Goleby Ave
  • Tuesday-Sunday, 9.30am-4pm

SEE an array of Australian wildlife including rock wallabies, bilbies, emus and wombats or check out the reptile area. Ipswich Nature Centre sits in the heart of Ipswich and has called Queens Park home for more than 80 years.

Take note of the rotunda that serves as the entrance - it dates back to 1891.
