1 Rural Fire Service fun day

FLINDERS Peak Rural Fire Service is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an open day set to entertain the whole family this Sunday.

There will be a jumping castle, water slide, face painting, arts and crafts, as well as junior firefighter activities and simulations.

Blazer Bear and Squirt the Little Car will also be there to meet their fans. Hamburgers and drinks will be on sale and all other activities are offered free of charge.

2 Black Snake Creek Festival

  • Today from 6.30pm and tomorrow 9am - 4pm.

THIS two-day festival is something Marburg residents and visitors look forward to each and every year.

The iconic art show will begin the festivities from 6.30pm this evening at the Marburg Community Centre.

Tomorrow there will be a street parade, a quilt and fibre show, markets, craft stalls, comedy acts as well as live music and entertainment throughout the day.

The event will also host a baby animal farm, classic cars and memorabilia from the Rosewood Scrub Historic Society.

3 Pig races and music muster

THE Peak Crossing pig races event is currently in its seventh year of operation and has moved to the new venue of Peak Crossing State School.

The day will include market stalls, a mechanical bull, food, drink and plenty of attractions for the kids. Live music will be performed by Neil Duddy, Matti Biskit and The Noisy Minors. Entry $10 per person.

Children under 13 years get in for free.


4 Fassifern Fifties Festival

  • Aratula State School,Elizabeth St
  • Tomorrow 9am - 4pm

THIS festival brings the good times of the '50s to modern day. With loads of space, easy parking and plenty to see and do, it's sure to be a great day out.

Classic cars will be on display, hair and make-up artists will be offering 1950s styles and there will be markets, children's rides and food and drinks available.

5 Whispering for Wyllow

COME along to this family fun day to help raise money for Wyllow Cobbin, a brave local girl who is suffering from Rett syndrome.
