Nature Walks

GET out into nature and explore a landscape that is home to one of the most endangered trees in Australia.

The swamp tea-tree grows only in pockets in south-east Queensland and is found in abundance at Purga Nature Reserve. Walking trails allow for easy exploration and walkers also have the chance to spot local wildlife such as wallabies and koalas.

A selection of 80 of the best cartoons from 39 cartoonists.

This exhibition displays some of Australia's most controversial cartoons that test the boundaries of free speech and the freedom of the press.

Ipswich Nature Centre

  • Queens Park, Goleby Ave   
  • Tuesday-Sunday, 9.30am-4pm

SEE an array of Australian wildlife including rock wallabies, bilbies, emus and wombats or check out the reptile area. Ipswich Nature Centre sits in the heart of Ipswich and has called Queens Park home for more than 80 years.

Take note of the rotunda that serves as the entrance - it dates back to 1891.

Aging Stronger, Active Longer

SENIORS can come along and learn about and experience a variety of physical activities.

They will also learn how to adopt a nutritious diet and maintain good health and wellbeing.

Steam Train Sundays

BUY your tickets for The Workshops Rail Museum's Steam Train Sunday. The popular steam train returns to the track from this week until December for one-hour trips through Brisbane in heritage style.

Now in its seventh year, the steam train ride isn't running out of puff, with more trips available than ever before, departing and returning to Roma Street station at 10.15am and 11.40am on selected Sundays.
