12yo injured in motorcycle crash

A 12-year-old boy is recovering in hospital following a motorcycle accident at Boonah, south of Ipswich.

The boy sustained a head injury and had to be airlifted to the Mater Children's Hospital following the crash, late Sunday night.

RACQ CareFlight Air Crewman Ryan Purchase said the boy appeared dazed and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"The CareFlight chopper met the ambulance at the Boonah airfield and we then airlifted the boy to the Mater Children's Hospital," he said.

"He was in a stable condition at the time of airlifting."
