COMPLIMENTARY sparkling wine or champagne is the most popular perk on a long-haul flight according to a poll conducted by flight booking website Wotflight.
Free toiletries kits including an eye-mask, socks and toothbrush were a close second on 27%, followed by hot towels on 14%.
Wotif Brands general manager Megan Magill said 50% of people surveyed were most impressed by free champagne when flying long-haul.
"For a lot of people sitting in economy on a long flight a glass of bubbles makes them feel a little bit special.
"It doesn't take much to make people feel looked after on a flight - hot towels, a pair of socks or free drinks usually do the trick."
Other favourite perks mentioned in the poll included kids entertainment packs, and free newspapers and magazines.
