FRUSTRATED Ipswich businessmen have reached boiling point because iPhone 4 mobiles have had poor connections all week, with some not receiving text messages at all.

The problem only occurs on iPhone 4s connected with Telstra.

Staff at Llewellyn Motors in Booval have spent hours speaking to Telstra support staff this week trying to fix the problem because all of their employees use iPhone 4 smartphones.

“It has been very frustrating for us this week and made work a lot harder,” Llewellyn Motors employee Matthew Taylor-Farrington said.

“The calls drop out constantly.

"When people do get hold of you they tell you they have tried to call you several times that day.

“Because we are a major business we decided to get iPhones for all the staff, so everyone has been affected by it.

“We have had several previous issues with Telstra as well.

“The local rep guys for Telstra are fantastic, but when you go up the command chain there seems to be a lack of care.”

Llewellyn Motors staff said Telstra told them the problem occurred because they had upgraded their network connection platform.

They have not been given a time when it will be fixed.

“They have given us a temporary fix and now we have to reset the network settings and turn the phone off every time we have a problem with the phone,” Mr Taylor-Farrington said.

“I have had to do it three times today already.

"I did it yesterday and 15 text messages popped up.

“It’s not good enough from Telstra.”

Telstra did not respond to questions from The Queensland Times.

It is believed the problem is only affecting Ipswich and some Brisbane customers.

While the iPhone 4 has been incredibly popular, the Samsung Galaxy S II is surging among mobile users and is recording higher sales in the UK.
