VISITORS to this weekend’s Multicultural Festival in Esk will be able to once again enjoy the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) between Esk and Toogoolawah.
Deputy Premier Paul Lucas and Ipswich West MP Wayne Wendt paid tribute to those who worked to repair the 19km of trail, which was hit hard in the flood.
With about 5000 visitors expected at the festivities at the BVRT station grounds in Pipeliner Park, Mr Lucas said it was a perfect time to celebrate the reopening of the popular section of track.
Mr Wendt said it had suffered $2 million of damage, but more than 60km had been repaired.
