FIREFIGHTERS have been able to bring two grass fires under control west of Ipswich this afternoon.
Five crews rushed to Grants Rd, Lower Mt Walker about 2pm after a fire burned through about 100 acres of grassland.
No property was threatened before the crews brought the fire under control about 3.45pm.
Four crews also responded to a large grass fire on Jordan St, Laidley around 3pm.
Firefighters arrived to find the fire moving quickly but managed to bring the blaze under control around 3.45pm.
One structure came under threat during the incident, however firefighters were able to protected it.
Crews are remaining on scene of both fires to ensure the area is safe.
