Paltrow to guest on Morrison's album

GWYNETH Paltrow is to appear on Matthew Morrison's debut album.

The 'Country Strong' actress has previously worked with the actor when she guest starred on US musical drama series 'Glee' but will now lend her vocal talents to a duet of Judy Garland's classic track 'Over the Rainbow', which will feature on the 32-year-old star's self-titled LP.

Matthew - who sang the song in his 'Glee' audition and performed it on the finale episode of season one - said: "People kind of know me for that song now. I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It's a lot of strings, and it's beautiful."

Matthew asked Gwyneth to appear on the song when she was shooting her guest appearances as substitute teacher Holly Holiday and he admits approaching stars to ask them to collaborate with him was the most difficult thing about making the record.

He told Entertainment Weekly's website: "The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favours, like Sir Elton John and her. I'm so not that guy."

Matthew's album is due for release in May, while Gwyneth - who plays an alcoholic singer in 'Country Strong' - is believed to be in talks to release her own LP after impressing with a string of recent live performances.
