SOME of the Scenic Rim's most talented people are reaching for the skies in the region's latest tourism campaign.

The promotion aims to point out the region's best features in a nationwide print, television and radio advertising campaign that kicks off this month.

Six artists, performers and musicians were photographed against spectacular Scenic Rim backdrops for the spring campaign.

A variety of photographs will feature heavily in the new Scenic Rim television advertisement, which will be screened on south-east Queensland commercial TV.

Each of the images was threaded with the colour red and with the colours of the Scenic Rim landscape.

Talented ballerina Anne Laurich was captured in her red tutu atop a rock in a paddock off Green Hills Road behind Boonah. Mt Maroon and Mt Barney are both visible in the background of the photo.

Anne, a 17-year-old, has been dancing all her life and attends the Australian Dance Academy in Brisbane.

Scenic Rim Regional Council deputy mayor Dave Cockburn said he hoped the spring campaign would attract thousands of visitors to the region.

“It's certainly going to highlight what we've got to offer around the region,” Mr Cockburn said.

Mr Cockburn said council wanted to use people from the region in the campaign to show visitors the “wonderful and talented characters” in the area.
