Variety of acts Muster up success

MUSTER organiser Brian Sansom said this year’s event was successful.

“We were blessed with good weather,” he said on Monday.

It was also one of the best entertainment programs booked for many years.

“More and more people are coming for the variety of acts we have. Seven or eight years ago that might not have been the case,” he said.

Mr Sansom said quality acts in the Blues and other venues had pulled the crowds, even when bigger names were performing at the main stage.

He said the new Faulty Towers theatre restaurant was a huge hit and had sold out after the first day.

“I believe those types of events will only grow in the future. It’s just experimenting to see what works,” he said.

“People just didn’t want to go home (Sunday) night. There was a big crowd in the Blues Bar about 10.30 pm and a bigger one in the Muster Club, which was good.”

The clean up at Amamoor Creek starts now with volunteers working to get the site back into pristine condition over the next few weeks.

“It was a big effort from the whole community, which is the secret of why the Muster works so well and a lot of its spirit. So far, there have been no complaints to the Muster office. Most people went away happy with a week of great entertainment,” he said.
