THE former boss of Taronga Zoo, Guy Cooper, has been named as Father of the Year.
The father of five and grandfather of 10 has been recognised for his commitment to his family and to the community in developing Taronga Zoo in Sydney and the Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo.
Volunteer Robert Schneider, from the eastern Sydney suburb of Vaucluse, has been named NSW Community Father of the Year.
Mr Schneider juggles a full-time business with running a free respite centre and was nominated by his three children.
The awards were announced by the Australian Father's Day Council and The Shepherd Centre in Sydney on Friday.
