Constable Paul Andrews with the burnt out Porsche.
THERE has been no fairytale ending for the Brisbane doctor who had his $280,000 Porsche stolen last month.
The eye-catching red 911 Carrera was found burnt out at Chuwar, north of Ipswich, on Sunday morning, prompting an appeal from police to catch those responsible for the destruction.
Dr Lee Lua first realised the car had been stolen after he spotted it travelling in the opposite direction as he drove home from work in Brisbane on July 14.
The Porsche, registration 115 MRI, was stolen from Dr Lua’s Albany Creek house that day.
Several sightings of the vehicle have been reported in the last month – including one by an off-duty police officer at Karalee on July 22.
The driver at the time was described as male, aged in his late teens, Caucasian, with short brown hair. He was wearing a dirty, cream-coloured t-shirt with a dark coloured motif on it.
The passenger was also male.
Police couldn’t speculate on their relationship, with two men having already faced Toowoomba Magistrates Court for the unlawful use of the same Porsche.
They were identified after being captured on CCTV filling the car up at a petrol station.
The Porsche somehow found its way back to Allawah Road, Chuwar, where it was found about 8.30am Sunday.
Residents in the area had reported hearing a car travelling at high speed about 3.30am.
Police are appealing for information from the public to help them locate the two men seen in the car on July 22.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
