Have fun and fundraise for Blaise

Dawn McKenzie-Wyatt and her husband Cameron hope to raise funds for their son Blaise, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

COMEDY magician Matt Hollywood has become a familiar face on TV after appearing on The Footy Show, Mornings with Kerri-Anne, The Shak, Ready Steady Cook and other small-screen favourites.

A few weeks ago he was on stage with chef Gordon Ramsay and laugh-maker Jerry Lewis. He has worked with Richard Branson and Robbie Williams.

Mr Hollywood name-drops shamelessly after 20 years as an entertainer.

On July 16 and 17, Mr Hollywood will present his first public shows in Ipswich.

“I'm performing my Las Vegas Grand Illusion and Comedy Show,” he said.

“I'll be levitating people from the crowd and also doing some things never seen before in the world of magic.

“I'll also be trying out some of my latest and greatest creations.”

Dawn and Cameron Wyatt have organised the shows to help their son Blaise. In February Blaise was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.

“We have taken it upon ourselves to fundraise for Blaise to get him to the specialists he needs and to pay for the upcoming expenses he will also have in the future,” Mrs McKenzie-Wyatt said.

“We are aiming to raise $60,000 within the next 12 months to assist in paying for the treatments, therapies, medicines and future equipment Blaise needs fundraising to help him in his fight against cerebral palsy.

“The equipment Blaise will eventually need, for example wheelchairs, car seats, walkers, cost between $500 and $15,000 per item.

“There are also surgical procedures that Blaise will need in the future.”

Three Grand Illusion shows will be presented on July 16 and 17 at the Ipswich RSL Services Club, North Ipswich. Call 0407 324 222 to order tickets.
