BOEING Defence Australia’s US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificate has expanded to include a new accessory rating.
Under the FAA’s Part 145 Repair Station certificate, the new rating allows Boeing to repair and overhaul wheels for Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft from its facilities at Amberley.
It will enhance Boeing Defence Australia’s existing Next-Generation 737 commercial and commercial-derivative aircraft maintenance and repair services capability, and also benefit local and international customers based in the Asia Pacific region through reduced turnaround times and freight costs, and a more convenient location.
Awarded in 2008, FAA Part 145 Repair Station certification authorises Boeing Defence Australia to perform maintenance on airframes, engines and instruments.
Boeing Defence Australia has the equipment, technical data, personnel and approved inspection systems in place to ensure aircraft repairs are completed to US aviation standards.
