WHILE much of the focus for motorsport fans in Ipswich last weekend was on the V8 Supercars event at Queensland Raceway, the spotlight will this weekend turn to the stars of tomorrow in the CIK Stars of Karting Series.
Round two of Australia’s elite karting series will be hosted by the Ipswich Kart Club, located on Champions Way in Willowbank, and it has attracted some of the top young drivers from across the country.
In addition to the three pro categories, the up and coming competitors will contest the opening round of the East Coast Title for Clubman and Junior National while local competitors will battle it out in the Formula 100 category.
Practice will be held on Friday, followed by qualifying races on Saturday and the finals on Sunday. Admission is free.
