AUTISM Queensland’s largest annual fundraising campaign, Dress Differently Day, is set for April 30 to raise funds and awareness for a condition that now affects one in 160 Australian children.
People with autism experience the world differently every day so now is a great opportunity to get behind a great cause and experience the world differently for just one day.
Individuals or groups can take part for as little as a gold coin donation per person for dressing differently, or by selling or purchasing Autism Queensland merchandise.
Autism Queensland CEO Penny Beeston said Autism Queensland was the only organisation delivering services to people with autism across the entire state of Queensland.
“Money raised will fund education and therapy for children and adults with autism; it will help support their families, as well as provide funding to train teachers and professionals working with people with autism,” she said.
Prizes are up for grabs for schools hosting a Dress Differently Day event or who sell Autism Queensland merchandise.
Get behind Dress Differently Day by registering your interest online at www.dressdifferently.org.au or call the Autism Queensland on 3273 0000.
