THE Springfield campus of the Bremer Institute of TAFE has tripled in size to cater for record enrolments this year.
The Bremer TAFE’s Institute Director Michael Thomas said the new accommodation, on Level 3 of the World Knowledge Centre, was the result of extensive planning and could accommodate up to 120 students.
“The new facilities feature two high-end design labs and software for Auto CAD 3D rendering, graphic design, and specialised business and accounting applications,” Mr Thomas said.
Mr Thomas said the new Springfield facilities would meet increased demand for the justice administration, computer-aided design, accounting, bookkeeping, business, and community services programs.
“The latest figures show that across the board, The Bremer TAFE has experienced more than a 20 per cent increase in demand above last year for this semester, exceeding the average 7.6 per cent increase recorded for TAFE state-wide,” Mr Thomas said.
“Feedback received at The Bremer TAFE’s January Information Sessions at Springfield and Bundamba revealed that pursuing study and training for a qualification had a higher priority in 2010 than it did last year.”
