POLICE want the public’s help in tracking down three people involved in the attempted armed robbery of a Dinmore service station on Sunday night.
The raid occurred after two women emerged from a black Holden Commodore sedan, which had pulled up for fuel at the 7-Eleven shop on Brisbane Road about 10.10pm.
While the passenger filled the car with fuel, the driver entered the store, to be joined by a man who was wearing a blue hooded jumper and a black cloth over his face.
The man demanded cash from the console operator while waving a knife with a 20cm blade.
The employee refused to hand over cash, however, and the man and woman left the shop.
They hopped into the black Commodore and fled the scene with the other woman, who had remained outside filling the fuel tank.
Police said nobody was injured.
Both women were described as Caucasian in appearance, with the one who entered the shop dressed in tight black pants, a black long-sleeve top, a white cap, dark sunglasses and short dark hair with possible light colouring.
The woman who remained outside the shop was described as having a large build and blonde hair and wearing a blue and white singlet, denim shorts and thongs.
The man had a slim build and was wearing a light blue jumper, black cap and three-quarter length faded denim pants.
Police said the Commodore was fitted with number plates that had been stolen from a vehicle at Inala shortly before the attempted robbery.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the attempted robbery of a petrol station at North Ipswich about 12.45am Saturday.
A console operator at the Pine Road shop was punched in the face after refusing to hand money to a male offender.
The offender was described as being 185 to 190cm tall with a slim build and shaved head, wearing a black shirt and cream coloured pants.
The male employee sustained bruising and swelling to his check.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
