No bum deal for AC/DC fans

THE last time Adam Semmens saw AC/DC live, it was on their 1996 Ballbreaker tour.

Mr Semmens no doubt had that incredible gig on his mind yesterday as he and two mates ran about 5km in a horrifying hat-trick of “mankinis” and g-strings to score tickets to AC/DC’s Brisbane gig on Saturday night.

The trio of “nudie runners” ran from Mooloolaba Bowls Club, along Mooloolaba Esplanade and down Aerodrome Road before hooking a left into Plaza Parade.

They arrivined at the Mix FM studios about 9am to collect their winnings.

The run was spearheaded by Scott Donaldson, who contacted Mark and Caroline For Breakfast and then roped in his mate, Mr Semmens.

The third victim, Matthew Lynch, only flew in from Mackay on Monday night and was largely forced into his unmentionables to repay his mates for picking him up at the airport.

What made the long run all the more impressive is that not one of the three is particularly fit.

“Mate, I’m knackered,” Mr Semmens said a few hours after the win.

“And poor Scott is throwing up, even now.

“We tried to pace ourselves but the sun was a killer.

“A few people in restaurants were like, ‘What the?’ but it was nervous at the start and great fun at the end. There were high fives along the way and my derriere got a bit more tanned.”

Mr Semmens, a milko, scored the day off from his boss by finding a replacement, and now he and Mr Donaldson will be ready to salute when Acca Dacca are about to rock.
