Investigator Kellie Wright tests a house for paranormal activity.
FIFTH generation paranormal investigator Kellie Wright has identified Springfield as a key paranormal hot spot.
Ms Wright has been conducting investigations for about 11 years at both private homes and public sites such as the notorious Wolston House and Woodlands of Marburg.
The Camira-based psychic said she was currently investigating a Springfield house in which the homeowner had reported what appeared to be a young girl.
“Springfield, while not an old area tends to have more paranormal activity,” Ms Wright said.
“People don’t realise that the land is the key, not the house.
“There could have been something built on the site before which was knocked down and the residual energy has remained.”
The director of South Brisbane Paranormal said her knowledge had been passed down for generations, with her grandmother and mother guiding her in the practice.
Ms Wright said after years of being involved with the paranormal, she looked on it as a science, using tools such as EMF meters to track hot or cold spots that attracted spirits or seances to investigate the phenomena.
She said she had visited close to 30 homes in the Ipswich region, which had reported activity.
“It is amazing how many homes in Springfield, Ipswich and Camira have paranormal activity,” Ms Wright said.
“Ipswich is a very old area and very historic.
“It is a city worthwhile doing investigations in.”
Ms Wright said while some people were happy to find out their home had a resident ghost, others were less thrilled and just wanted it gone.
“As a psychic I try and get the ghosts to pass over,” she said.
“Sometimes they won’t leave.
“Anything involving negative energy I tend to call in the clergy to conduct a blessing.”
But she warned not every old home was haunted with people sometimes interpreting noises such as creaking floor boards or drafts from an unsealed window as paranormal activity.
