A MAN flipped his car in an Ipswich front yard only metres after he got behind the wheel
more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit.
Police who arrived at the scene discovered the 34-year-old’s vehicle overturned in the front yard of a home in Lindsay Street, Bundamba, about 11pm.
David Justin Weiss was breathalysed, recording a blood alcohol content of 0.160.
Ipswich Magistrates Court heard the 34-year-old had driven away from a card-game at his friend’s house on October 24 after getting into an argument.
But Weiss only travelled around the corner before losing control of the vehicle.
The court was told the crane driver was very remorseful and his car was written off.
Weiss admitted driving under the influence of liquor and was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for six months.
