Dulcie Isabelle Birt, 31, was last seen by a friend at 10.30pm on Wednesday at her Old Ipswich Road residence.
AT A flood-lit site set up by police outside missing Riverview woman Dulcie Birt's home last night, a poignant milestone passed.
At 10.30pm, it was exactly a week since the 31-year-old was last seen and police hold increasingly grave concerns for her welfare.
Ipswich Detective Inspector Mick Niland said the site was set up outside Ms Birt's house at 76 Old Ipswich Road, Riverview, between 9pm and 11pm last night.
Insp Niland said police hoped that anyone who drove or walked past the house the same time each week would recall seeing something on October 21.
“We're doing this to try to get more information,” Insp Niland said last night.
“On top of that, we're asking anyone in that bushland area opposite Old Ipswich Road between Wednesday and Monday to contact Ipswich CIB on 3817 1365 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
“The area is commonly referred to as Greenlakes or the Riverview old mine bushland.
“We're hoping someone motorbike riding, bushwalking or four-wheel driving saw something suspicious and will come forward.”
Police and SES volunteers yesterday continued to search the bushland after starting the search on Tuesday.
Insp Niland said the bushland search would continue and no other areas were being searched.
“People have come forward with information and we're acting on that information,” he said.
Police stepped up the search for Dulcie Birt following reports from neighbours of screaming at her house the night she went missing.
A neighbour told police they heard “a giant scream"” coming from Ms Birt's house on Wednesday night last week.
Ms Birt's twin brother Dennis was back at the search area yesterday after going there on Tuesday to talk to the search coordinator.
The area covers eight square kilometres bounded by Old Ipswich Road, Child and Bailey streets.
Ms Birt is described as being Caucasian with a fair complexion, about 175cm tall with a medium build. She has brown hair and brown eyes and a love heart tattoo on the left side of her back.
• Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or at crimestoppers.com.au 24 hours a day.
