RUSH TO HELP: An ambulance leaves Mt Archer National Park with an injured rural firefighter.
A RURAL firefighter was taken to Rockhampton Hospital yesterday after a smouldering tree fell on his fire truck in the Mt Archer National Park.
The firefighter was about one kilometre inside the park from the entrance off Sunset Drive in Norman Gardens when the tree fell, around 4pm.
A spokesperson for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service said the firefighter was complaining of neck pains and was transported for precautionary reasons.

He had been part of one of the crews monitoring the blaze in the national park which was being kept within containment lines yesterday.
The firefighter was the only person injured when the burnt tree fell onto the rural fire truck.
The truck had a dent in the cabin but was still driven out of the national park.
The area where the firefighters had been patrolling was burnt by bushfires in the national park earlier in the week.
The tree that fell on the truck was part of the charred vegetation.
