Indigenous children celebrate day

HUNDREDS of Ipswich pre-schoolers will help celebrate National Aboriginal and Islander Children's Day with a special event at Neville Bonner Sports Facility today.

Arts, Community and Cultural Services Committee chairman Charlie Pisasale said Ipswich City Council in partnership with Amaroo Kindergarten and Preschool Association would present a day of cultural activities to invited preschools to celebrate National Aboriginal and Islander Children's Day.

“The day will include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance performances and workshops, story telling, singing plus arts and craft workshops.

“Both indigenous and non-indigenous playgroups have been invited to attend and celebrate with the students and staff of Amaroo Kindergarten and Preschool.”
