THE Ipswich environment will be further preserved with $3 million for management, development, education and promotion of key green assets on public and private land.
Environment and Conservation Committee chairwoman Cheryl Bromage said the funding would help with maintenance and management of council's 4930 hectares of Enviroplan conservation estates and 864ha of urban bushland reserves.
Cr Bromage said about $180,000 was specifically set aside for capital works within the conservation estates including:
• $30,000 for recreation path improvements and natural landscaping in the Denmark Hill Conservation Park;
• $90,000 for access control fencing and track improvements in White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate; and
• $57,000 for access control fencing and recreational day use area enhancements in the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate.
