A VICIOUS fight between a group of Ipswich State High School schoolgirls was cheered on by more than 50 students and then uploaded to YouTube in the latest example of school violence in the city.

The video, which was uploaded to the internet on Monday, shows a gang of young girls punching, scratching and kicking their blonde victim.

At several points during the fight three of the attackers repeatedly punch the student at the same time.

The footage shows teachers attempting to break up the fight and in turn being attacked by a girl not wearing school uniform.

Ipswich State High School principal Simon Riley said he was unaware of the video's existence when contacted by The Queensland Times.

The footage has since been removed from the website. Mr Riley declined to comment on the video or whether the school had a problem with violent bullying.

The video clip also featured scenes involving a second brawl between two Ipswich State High School girls and a group of boys at Riverlink shopping centre.

An Education Queensland spokesman said the incidents had been resolved.

“The video involved three separate incidents, all occurring outside school,” the spokesman said.

“These incidents were all managed in accordance with the school's responsible behaviour plan.”

On Wednesday a 14-year-old student was punched unconscious in an attack at Bremer State High School.

The victim is now recovering at home after being admitted to hospital and a police inquiry into the incident is under way.

On Monday, Ipswich teachers raised concerns that they were being pressured to keep unruly students in school to cut the official number of expulsions and suspensions.

A source at Ipswich State High, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said it was almost impossible to stop students filming fights on their mobile phones.

“Technology makes it so much easier for students to organise fights where teachers will not be around,” he said.

A year 10 student said there were regular fights at the school.

“There was a massive brawl a couple of weeks ago between about six guys,” he said.

“Every week there's a good fight on.”
