WHEN it comes to Melbourne Cup Day, Brookwater resident Janet Roberts reckons she's not bad at picking a winner or two.
The only problem is, she rarely gets around to placing a bet.
"I picked Makybe Diva a few years in a row, but I never had any money on her," she said.
"So this year I specifically wanted to place a bet."
Mrs Roberts, who will be spending her Melbourne Cup Day at a rather "swanky" Toshiba corporate event at Gianni's in Hamilton, decided to get her bets on early yesterday at the Riverlink TAB.
Her top picks: No. 1 Septimus, No. 3 Honolulu, No. 5 Nom du Jeu, No. 10 Viewed.
