Young Roar fans meet the stars
BRISBANE Roar players will be treating their Ipswich opponents with plenty of respect when the two sides clash in the annual pre-season game at North Ipswich Reserve tomorrow.
Roar stars Matt Jurman and Rocky Visconte visited Ipswich on Thursday night with the A-League trophy to promote the clash.
Jurman said the clash would be vital as the club was preparing to target a historic third championship in a row.
"It is very important to get 90 minutes under our belt and interact with the community," he said.
"Coming out to Ipswich is always good and we get an excellent crowd out here as well.
"The Ipswich match last year was my first game for the Roar.
"We had a good break and everyone is training hard and looking forward to a new season.
"Everyone is very determined to make it three in a row.
"It has never been done before and hopefully we can do it again this year.
"Rado Vidosic is our new coach ... and we want to make him look good as well.
"Training has changed a little bit in terms of what Rado is going to bring to the table, but we are still going to play the same quick, attacking style of football."
