You can eat our country's 'Coat of Arms' this Australia Day

IN celebration of Australia Day, Grill'd has created a 'Coat of Arms' burger, featuring a unique blend of kangaroo and emu, giving hungry Australians the opportunity to eat their national emblem.

The patriotic creation combines a premium and deliciously lean kangaroo and emu pattie with native thyme mayo, beetroot, quandongs, Meredith Dairy goats cheese, bush tomato relish and a host of other Australian-sourced ingredients to create a delicious and healthy burger with a uniquely Australian twist.

To mark the launch of this burger, Grill'd also unveiled its own take on the Australian Coat of Arms in Sydney yesterday, complete with a live kangaroo and an emu (Unfortunately the emu is not real life, although he looks the part. We wanted a real emu but apparently they don't get on too well - who knew?).

Grill'd founder Simon Crowe said a premium blend of lean kangaroo and emu meat, along with native ingredients, have been used to create a mouth-watering and truly Australian burger.

"At Grill'd, we're passionate about our meat, so it felt right to extend our menu with a unique and definitively Australian offering," he said.

"We are one of the only countries in the world to eat our coat of arms - and what could be more patriotic than that?"

The Coat of Arms burger will be available from selected Grill'd restaurants across the country between January 19 and 31 - but burger lovers will have to be quick, as only 50 will be made available per restaurant each day.
