Welcome end to water restrictions in Queensland

WITH scorching temperatures and humid holiday conditions, Queenslanders will welcome the end of water restrictions in 2013.

Acting Water Minister Andrew Cripps said the first day of the year marked an end to water restrictions introduced in 2009.

Mr Cripps said Queenslanders used an average of 180 litres of water per day last month, well below the 200 litres per person per day target.

"As our dams are currently more than 90% full, there is no need for water restrictions," he said.
