THE Forensic Crash Unit is at the scene of a major traffic crash on the Warrego Highway, Toowoomba.

Initial information indicates two B-doubles collided with a number of other vehicles on the eastbound lanes of the Warrego Hwy at Hattonvale near Rusty's Roadhouse around 8.30pm.

The Courier Mail is reporting that a 17-year-old girl suffered serious spinal injuries and a 19-year-old man has suffered severe head and chest injuries.

The Mail is also reporting that the truck driver suffered only minor injuries.

A B-double has been moved off the road, but motorists can expect significant traffic delays in the area.

The highway is closed at Rusty's Place. Officers are working to put traffic diversions in place.

The up section of the Toowoomba Range also is closed because of a fuel spill.

Traffic is at a standstill.
