New arrival at Big Pineapple
EVERYONE loves a cute new baby, and it's no different at the White Ridge Farm at the Big Pineapple.
The farm reopened its gates earlier this year and this week is celebrating its first newborn - a calf called Violet.
Violet couldn't wait to enter the world. Her mum Poppy was in labour for just 10 minutes and could not be prouder of her healthy new little daughter.
David and Katrina White, who own the farm, also are proud.
They describe Violet as their little champion, already attracting return visits from patrons whose children are delighting in checking on the growth and progress of their cute little friend.
Violet was born on Sunday. She's a younger sister of sorts to a farmyard full of alpacas, donkeys, ponies, miniature horses, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, ducks and chickens.
The White Ridge Farm opens Saturdays 8am-3pm, Sundays 9am-3pm.
Entry is $4 a person, or $10 with the combined train ride, and rainforest walk.
