UPDATE 7.55PM: Two men are in serious conditions after their motorcycle collided head on with a car at Glasshouse Mountains this evening.

The rider has been taken to Nambour General Hospital by road while the passenger has been airlifted to a hospital in Brisbane.

It was initially reported two helicopters were called out.

Early reports indicated the crash occurred on Railway Pde outside Mitre 10 about 6.35pm.

A Department of Community Safety spokesman confirmed they had two male patients in serious conditions.

"They were unconscious and both with head and suspected spinal injuries," the spokesman said.

A spokeswoman for AGL Action Rescue Helicopter confirmed its crew arrived on scene about 7.50PM.
