Hwy open after two-vehicle crash

UPDATE: THE Brisbane Valley Highway has been reopened following a serious two-vehicle crash near Fernvale this morning.

Police say two four-wheel-drives collided nose-to-tail at the intersection of the highway and Wivenhoe-Somerset Rd just after 10am.

Three people aged in their 80s have been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with chest and back injuries.

The forensic crash unit and scenes of crime officers from Ipswich are investigating.
