Thieves steal 160 cartons of drink
THIEVES preparing for an Easter weekend binge stole 160 cartons of premixed drinks from a Gatton business on Friday night.
Police believe the 160 cartons of UDLs, valued at more than $9,000, were taken from a Cook's Transport on Crescent St on foot with CCTV footage not capturing any vehicles.
Gatton Police Sergeant Bernie Wilce said the thieves cut a whole in the business's fence to gain entry before pulling of iron sheeting to get into the storage shed.
Sgt Wilce said the cartons weren't on pallets and may have been individually carried to vehicles parked some distance away.
Detectives from the Gatton Police Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the incident.
Sgt Wilce said a number of local youths were assisting police.
