BRISBANE Roar's miserable record against A-League rookies Western Sydney Wanderers continued after letting slip a one-goal lead at Suncorp Stadium yesterday.
The Roar looked in control in the first half after Mitch Nichols gave the reigning champion a 1-0 lead on 22 minutes which it took into the sheds at half-time.
But after the break the Wanderers upped their game and took all three points with two goals in four minutes turning the game in their favour to win 2-1.
First Mark Bridge fired home after poor defending allowed him too much space to beat Michael Theo at his near post before Youssouf Hersi, with the Roar players screaming for offside raced away to hit a deserved second.
Replays showed Shinji Ono in an offside position but he was not interfering with play.
This was the third victory this season for the Wanderers after winning 1-0 in both the previous encounters.
The win meant the Wanderers moved to within one point of the Melbourne Victory in third and consolidated fourth spot in their inaugural year.
The defeat left the Roar one point off the bottom of the ladder and four points outside the top six.
