THE Springwood Suns Cricket club is shining a little bit brighter after the upgrade of new flood lights at their grounds.

The new lights were made possible after a donation from the Logan City Council and Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

Both senior and junior players will benefit from the lights, which will allow safer night training sessions at the Homestead Park ground.

Springwood Suns president Michael Lusk said the ongoing support from Logan City Council and the Brisbane Lions meant the club could operate new programs such as the Milo in2Cricket program.

"In2Cricket introduces children, girls and boys to cricket with qualified coaches running the Friday night program here at Homestead Park in Daisy Hill in a relaxed atmosphere until they are ready to take a place in the junior teams," he said.

"We would like to thank Councillor Darren Power for helping arrange the ongoing support of Logan City Council, as well as Brisbane Lions and State Member for Springwood John Grant, who has thrown his support behind the club since his election this year."

Mr Lusk invited children who would like to become involved in the Milo In2Cricket program to visit the club on Friday night, located on Jodie St, Daisy Hill from 6pm.
