Sun shines on NAIDOC celebration
A FAIRGROUND atmosphere at yesterday's sun-soaked NAIDOC Family Fun and Information Day brought dozens of families to Briggs Rd Sports Ground.
Singer Muddy Flats and the Kambu Choir kept toes tapping.
Queensland Police were out recruiting among the community groups and government agencies taking part.
Mercy Family Services case worker Dianne Kemp invited people to write NAIDOC-inspired messages on artworks which will hang in the organisation's Goodna office.
"We support foster carers. We're here as part of the community," Ms Kemp said.
"Hopefully we might get people interested in being foster carers. There's never enough."
NAIDOC Week from July 1 to 8 acknowledges the first people of Australia.
