Strippers' catfight ends in court

AN IPSWICH pole dancer assaulted another stripper during a heated catfight about an alleged affair.

Julie Faith Hansen, 21, demanded an apology from the woman while they were both working at Showgirls in Brisbane city because the other woman had reportedly slept with her fiance.

Her presumptive rival refused to apologise, so Hansen punched her in the head before the other woman grabbed Hansen's hair. As the woman kept her grasp, Hansen continued to punch her, causing some bruising.

Hansen, a mother of one from Lowood, was extremely remorseful about her behaviour when questioned by police about the incident, which happened on March 26.

She pleaded guilty yesterday at Ipswich Magistrates Court to assault occasioning bodily harm and was sentenced to 12 months probation.

But Hansen's real trouble was because she was caught driving three times while on parole for disqualified driving.

She was given a four-month prison term and released on immediate parole on January 30.

However, she was caught behind the wheel on March 11, March 26 and March 29, and twice gave a false name.

A woman was even charged over Hansen's offence until police found out.

Defence lawyer Vincent Knox said his client had learnt from her mistakes and her time in prison during the past three months had been a "real wake-up call" for her.

Mr Knox said Hansen would be rehabilitated if able to re-enter the workforce and look after her daughter.

The child was in court and asked her nana to "give police the keys so they could let mummy out" of jail.

For the three latest disqualified driving offences, Hansen was sentenced to nine months jail, wholly suspended for two and a half years, and disqualified for 30 months.
