School student takes van for joyride

A SCHOOL student has been cautioned after taking a car for a five kilometre joyride at Pittsworth.

Police said the 15-year-old boy took a glass windscreen repair van which was parked in the Pittsworth State High School car park about 11am yesterday.

He drove the van less than five kilometres before he stopped at the Gore Highway.

The boy's parents picked him up and took him to the police station.

The van sustained minor damage when the boy hit a post. It was returned to its owner.
